VENUS LEAVES HER RX SHADOW & CAPRICORN SEASON BEGINS

On Dec 17th, Venus finally leaves her post-retrograde shadow at 10˚ Scorpio, moving her forward from the truth and depths she’s uncovered since Oct. 5th. And then Capricorn season and the Winter Solstice ushers in on Dec. 21, 2018 at 2:23pm PT/ 5:23pm ET. In the tropical zodiac, the Sun travels through a sign for about a month and functions as a kind of spotlight for us to become more aware of. The Sun in our charts represents what we are most conscious of and the light that which we continually seek. The Sun often emphasizes other transits currently occurring but solar transits on its own is not the most life-changing. The Sun’s journey however documents the movement of time and our relationship to it. The days now grow longer as we move deeper into the season. On the same day, Venus in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces; and Mercury conjuncts Jupiter both in Sagittarius. This can truly feel like a higher calling towards what we truly value and we’re armed with such magnificent imaginations to carry our visions forward.

FULL MOON IN CANCER

Immediately the next day, the Moon opposes the Sun for the final lunation of the year. The Full Moon happens at 0˚ Cancer at 9:49am PT/ 12:40pm ET on Dec. 22, 2018 on Saturday, Saturn’s day. 2018 was the year of retrogrades. It was a year that required all of us to be more contemplative and reflective. It demanded us to review our lives, our passions, our relationships, our thoughts and our integrity. Whatever trail you’re leaving behind, know that you survived one of the most challenging year for all of us and the whole wide world. This emo Full Moon also opposes Saturn and Pluto. At the same time, also co-present with the North Node, newly in Cancer and has not been here since 18 years ago. It’s powerful and probably triggering, for better or for worse.

The Full Moon is a rich one with Luna in her own sign of rulership. She forms a Grand Water Trine by sign with Venus (still) in Scorpio and Neptune/Mars in Pisces. A Grand Water Trine is an auspicious and self-sufficient planetary configuration formed among the same elements. This one occurs with the water signs and whatever houses you have in these signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), are the realms of your life receiving some luminary magic for this month’s Full Moon. Water signs are not just emotive, but also deeply intuitive, creative and connected to psychic/spirit realm. They are not of this earthy dimension, but somewhere else. Somewhere where all logic and rationality dissolves. Somewhere where our feelings and memories live. This watery lunation really makes it easier for us to do the work of empathy. And to practice empathy for ourselves and others, in our conditions of dehumanization, this can be the hardest work. In Cancer, it is always about belonging. And for millions of people lost, banished, and unloved, this can feel unimaginable. How do you receive care when you’ve been so uncared for?

A Full Moon can also be very uncomfortable. This one we can definitely feel in our hearts and in our bodies. Poignantly happening so close to the holidays emphasizing all our family woes. There is a pull and tension between your house that is Cancer and Capricorn. These two signs form the axis of security. They both crave and are driven by solidifying a sense of safety in their lives. Cancer is about emotional intimacy with family - born & chosen; Capricorn is about your place in the world and the achievements you aspire to. Work with this energy by being open to whatever feelings come through. Try not to intellectualize or rationalize it. Just stay with them, be curious and be present. If possible, lean into them and learn something about your needs for emotional nourishment.

MERCURY SQUARE NEPTUNE AND LEAVES THEIR RX SHADOW, HOLIDAYS #ASTROWEATHERMOOD, VENUS SEXTILE PLUTO

Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces both at 13˚ on Dec. 24th. At the same time, Mercury finally leaves their post-retrograde shadow and can now go on with their life (and us too, no doubt). However, by sign, anytime Mercury enters a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces), they face off with Neptune in Pisces in a stressful way. Mercury’s job is to make sense of information and eventually articulate and communicate whatever they’ve learned. Neptune tends to dissolve reality and fog our perception, making Mercury’s job much more challenging. Despite this difficulty however, Neptune invites the rational Mercurial brain to think more intuitively and creatively. Pushing the imaginations towards fantasy and fairy tales. Indeed a great time for creating art but not so much for accounting.

The #AstroWeatherMood around the high-statutory-holidays is a merry one. The Moon will be in celebratory Leo on Dec. 25th making a fire trine with planet of more-more-more Jupiter in Sagittarius. This either makes your time with family a fun one, or may inflame underlying drama. The next day, Luna moves into dutiful Virgo sobering and detoxing the next few days from statutory-holidays stress & loneliness. The Virgo Moon will form a supportive earth trine with the Sun making it a good time to do some work - in the house, in your work work or in your lives. It feels like a clean slate as the year nears the end.

On Dec. 28th Venus in Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn both at 20˚. This supportive aspect provides Venus some container from all the intensity she’s been unravelling and travelling through since the Fall of 2018. We are awaiting her ascend towards the optimistic horizons of Sagittarius to eventually have the sweetest and luckiest rendezvous with Lord Jupiter next month - I cannot wait for this!

MARS COMES HOME TO ARIES, SUN CONJOINS SATURN IN CAPRICORN

On New Year’s Eve Dec. 31st, the King’s (Sun) Warrior (Mars) comes home. Mars generally completes his time in a sign for about 6 weeks. In 2018 he was in Aquarius for 6 months (omg!) due to his recent retrograde cycle. Whenever we have Mars transits, whatever area of our life that’s receiving it gets energized. Mars rules the fire of vitality within us and in Aries, Mars is ready and willing to do what needs to get done. Here, Mars has all the courage to fight the good fight. Mars transits can also potentially bring about conflict and challenges. However, I think with a lot of retrograde shadow periods ending and with only Uranus moving backwards, this makes for an energetic, exciting and ambitious vibe for the end of the year. This can potentially make us all spur towards action after a potentially slower and more contemplative year.

On the 2nd day of the new year, the Sun sobers up and confronts Saturn. This is an intense conjunction that has the potential for deeply transformative ideals in whatever area of our charts that’s Capricorn. Generally Capricorn is all about getting work done and this can be a great jump off from Mars in Aries to put down our heads and build the future we want for 2019. What kind of structures do you need to put in place to help you commit to your goals for this new year? Next month the two malefics Mars and Saturn are in their own territories.

FULL MOONSCOPES

Read your horoscopes for Capricorn Season. It is best to read with your Ascendant/Rising sign in mind. But you can also read your Sun sign (especially if you are a day chart) and your Moon sign (especially if you are a night chart).

If you want a more personalized reading you can see me for a live session for a look at your Year Ahead or a Monthly Forecasts crafted specifically for your chart. I wish you love for the end of this year and hope for the new one.

ARIES

The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd will unravel some deeply embedded narratives you have about the wounds you carry from the past, from your childhood, from your ancestral lineage. It may be antithetical to your nature to get emo but I highly suggest that you spend some time getting to know your feelings. Therapy can be a good outlet to articulate what’s going on underneath your strong build. Think back to the summer of July 2018. This Full Moon is the culmination of whatever transpired then. And it may be about letting go, or taking things to the next level. Whatever you do, be open to new ways of seeing the world and spend some time connecting to how this aligns with your inner world.

TAURUS

It’s prime time to explore how your connections with others either enrich or drain you. Your general tendency is to choose relationships that are intense and deeply transformative, however, intense doesn’t always mean it’s good for you. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd will enlighten the ways you make yourself understood and how you want to change the ways you engage in your relationships. 2019 will make you want to dive deeper into the questions hanging over your head about what your life is all about. People are ready to help you but you have to let them in first.

GEMINI

Your money is just as much about how much you make and how much you attach your own sense of worth with it. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd will be all about your work in the world. You can get easily overwhelmed by the demands of your day and perhaps imagining your life direction can be stressful. But it’s time to start visioning for your future. How does your relationship to scarcity limit your own potential for abundance? Think about ways you can apply soothing medicine to help you reframe your money wounds. Next year is full of gems and gifts from other people, work on being able to receive all that abundance now.

CANCER

No shit you’ll be feeling this Full Moon and maybe Dec. 22nd is cancelled. Just kidding. This lunation is an embodied experience dear one so I do actually recommend a day off to just let all your tears flow. If a day off is not possible, just cry (a lot) anyway. The Full Moon tugs on your heart strings of who you are, why you’re here, what is this life all for? No big deal. It’s time you nourish the parts of you that’s thirsty for some joy, pleasure and love. In doing so, this can help you connect to your desires to feel healthy and whole. Move your body on your own, against and with another. Re-engage in healthy habits that make you feel like you’re cared for. Quiet down your fears and remember what your life means and why you’re here.

LEO

You likely prefer to stay with the happy-happy mood but sometimes it’s okay to be sad. This Full Moon on Dec. 22nd can bring you to your shadowy corners that you’d rather turn away from. But confronting what’s difficult can be the way to give our fears less power. I encourage that you spend some time alone connecting with your inner world. Be in your feels and uncover all the rich water rushing underneath. Life is a celebration always, but there must also come a time to face our own monsters. The other side of pride is shame. What kinds of shame do you still carry with you now? It’s time to do the work of letting them go. 2019 promises to bring you fun and creative ecstasy so don’t worry that you’re in the dumps here and there. This too shall pass.

VIRGO

Do you remember what you were scheming for about community and belonging back in the summer of July 2018? The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd is the fruit of those intentions or perhaps the beginning of the end. You’ve had to figure out your place in your friendships and the kinds of dreams you all share. Perhaps you’re also learning how your paths are starting to collide and diverge. It’s never easy to say farewell, even when that’s what you (all) need. But the thing with being stuck in the past is that it can sour the sweet memories. Keep your heart open to the truth about your relationships and how it blocks you from your dreams. As you navigate the changes upcoming, create a piece of home that feels like a place full of hope and possibilities.

LIBRA

The direction of your life has been on your mind since the summer of July 2018. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd confronts the new beginnings you planted back then and requires you to look at the ways you need to show up in the world. Your work is something that has to be deeply meaningful to you, sentimental even. Does your career reflect the ways you value interconnectedness and care? While your daily duties seem overwhelming, always remember the gifts of healing you bring to the rest of your community. 2019 will be a year of discovering and learning new things. Some will require that you travel quite a bit. And the world is ready and waiting for your contributions. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

SCORPIO

This year has been about rearranging your identities to better align with who you were before and who you are becoming now. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd wants to add more layers to your own philosophical beliefs about the meaning of your existence. You have something to teach and show and this is the moment to share them. All the things you have learned and are learning will add on to the opportunities coming your way in 2019 to help you connect to your deeper sense of values. This includes knowing how you want to spend your time, energy and money. These resources are not bottomless and you want to be more intentional in the new year with where you’re directing your attention towards.

SAGITTARIUS

You’re on top of the world dear Sagittarius. But before you reach your peak-with-a-view, you must spend some time at the base first. Since the summer of July 2018, you’ve had to look into and dig deeper to how interdependence with others can give you a sense of security. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd requires you to receive care from others despite your own natural tendency for independence. It lights up and challenges your ideas about self-sufficiency and how it limits the presence of love in your life. You have so much life to give others and you carry so much wisdom. Let that luminous generosity be also about letting love in your heart.

CAPRICORN

Out of all the signs, you know a lot (if not the most) about the tension of responsibility. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd will pull on the tug-of-war of your needs and the needs of your partnerships. You’ve had to take a lot of serious restructuring with what you have energy for and creating boundaries for yourself has been a critical pinnacle of your journey. 2019 brings you to some illuminating insights about the inner workings of your psyche, your past, your secret lives. Balance the security you are nurturing in your relationships by being honest about the truths you discover on your way.

AQUARIUS

Your little lives comprise of your bigger life. Pay attention to the work that needs to happen in your daily rhythms. Nurture your health because your life depends on it. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd reminds you of your fragile body and to take care of you. Invest in work projects that enhance your sense of well-being. Nurture obligations that nurture you back. Ritualize your habits to connect deeply with your days. The new year promises more joy in your connections. Create more space and time to be present for them.

PISCES

It can be scary to put out your shine out in the universe. But the world needs your gifts and your gifts need you. The Full Moon on Dec. 22nd shows you how much you need to keep your creative force alive. It’s your lifeline and it’s important. Give yourself permission to fall in love and watch how your life falls into the right places. The new year promises gems in your career and aspirations. The world is ready and waiting to watch you take the centre stage. Now is not the time to be timid about your talents. Hone them and use them.
